Well, hello there. You probably have been thinking of starting a blog and finally putting your great writing skills to even greater use. Or you may be someone who has started a blog for quite some time but is unable to really be successful at blogging. Or hey, you can also be someone who’s just stumbled across our little corner of the internet and just wants to snoop around a little before getting back to work.

Fear not, we at BlogPanda are always happy to help (and we do not discriminate). Today, we’re going to be talking about some of the most significant factors to keep in mind while starting up and maintaining a blog.

Through the learnings of the best business bloggers and our own experiences, we’re going to be helping you out in your journey of becoming successful at blogging success.

But wait a minute. Before we begin, what exactly is being successful at blogging? What do we mean by a “successful” blog?

Well, although a successful blog can mean a lot of things, what it usually refers to is an upward spike in the number of visitors and views on your site. That’s because more visitors mean an increase in traffic which, if yours is a business blog, could effectively mean a ranking in sales and in increased interest of the public in your product.

How do I become Successful at Blogging?

So let’s get right down to it. How do you become successful in the blogosphere when there are thousands of blogs being created and millions of blog posts being published every day?

Well, through our experiences, we have learned that the three most important factors to be kept in mind, while starting and maintaining a blog, are the 3 Cs. Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through all of the three, one by one.

What are the 3 Cs?

The 3 Cs stand for Content, Commitment, and Consistency. While it may seem obvious to some, the 3 Cs are actually difficult to achieve as time passes and priorities (possibly) change.

After you are done with choosing the right blogging platform, domain name and niche for your blog, it’s time to actually begin writing.

So let’s get started with the first of the three 3 Cs: Content and why it matters towards your journey of being successful at blogging.

Content (and why it matters)

This probably may not come as a surprise but it’s been proven time and time again that no matter how fancy you get with your marketing and social strategies, what will make your readers stay with you will undoubtedly be your content.

Why Content Matters

Quality content helps your audience to resonate with you and your beliefs. It is the single most thing that makes your readers want to stay with you for the long run. Good content gives you a sense of validity and authority. Your audience trusts and builds a bond with you and your blog.

If you’re in charge of a business blog, then you have all the more reason to put emphasis on content. Studies have shown that consumers choose brands that they identify with and feel connected to. So it’s no wonder that content marketing for your product will serve as a huge factor in your brand’s success.

Okay, but how do we create good content?

One thing that will make you undoubtedly successful in business blogging is to always ensure top-notch quality articles. Make sure the content you write is well-researched and detailed.

Delve deep into the topic and get into the core to fully grasp your understanding on the subject. Make sure to link your article to the various hyperlinks and sources that helped you out in the process. This not only adds validity to your words and thoughts but also gives the option for the more inquisitive readers to read more on the topic.

Create Good Content

Focus on your keywords so that your article performs well in search engine results. Although longer articles have been known to outperform shorter ones with regards to search engine optimization, this should not be your primary concern. Do not stretch out or over-extend your article and drag it towards a certain word limit. This will do you more harm than good because it increases the chances of your readers getting distracted or bored by the redundancy of the article.

Be it an entertainment or a business site, the success of any website is largely based on the content. It makes up for the mood and feels of your readers and it also helps them differentiate you from the crowd. It helps establish connections and gain momentum towards the path to blogging success.

Okay. On to the second of the 3 Cs and why it is important for being successful at blogging!

Commitment (towards your passion)

It is extremely important to be committed to your blog and your passion for content. I’m not telling you to forget all of your other interests or hobbies, and take up blogging as your holy grail, but you have to respect the promise that you had made to yourself.

How do I do that?

For a blog to be successful, you have to be completely devoted to it. Make sure to continuously update and improve your blog whenever you can. Try to maintain a periodic timeline for blog updates, even if it is one post every two weeks or one post a month. But make sure that whatever you write has your whole heart and soul poured into it. Not only does it make it easier for the audience to connect with you but it also gives you a way to put your writing skills to good use.

Focus on the topic

Commit yourself to putting out great content. Don’t be afraid to really venture out and explore your topic of your next post. Scavenge the internet, read articles, visit a library, catch up on good old books to get deep into how things work and why things are the way they are.

An incredible benefit to actually completely grasping a subject from top to bottom is that it adds to the list of topics you have extensive knowledge on. This is turn makes conversations (both online and offline) that much more fun and interesting.

Not only does commitment towards your goals motivate yourself to strive for more, but it also inspires and motivates other bloggers out there that may just be starting out or are unhappy with the way their blogging career has turned out. The blogosphere is a great space to create friends and be a part of some amazing online communities. This helps us all to grow and thrive collectively as bloggers living in the digital era.

Have you lost the motivation you once had and wish it could come back?

Well, it can!

Here is a post explaining the four steps to an unshakeable commitment that can help reignite the fire and redirect your focus to your passion once again. I’ve found it to be incredibly motivating for those times when I was down in the dumps and confused about the next step to take. It definitely helped me think about what I really wanted to do with my life and how could begin planning to make sure that I fulfilled all of the goals that I had set for myself.

So we’ve talked about content, why it’s so important to be committed towards it and how these are two very important factors in determining your blog’s success. But there is still one factor left to discuss and it may be the most important of them all. So last but (definitely) not the least, we finally come to our third C and it’s importance towards being successful at blogging and that is…

Consistency (with your Content and Commitment)

To become truly successful at blogging, you have to be consistent with yourself and your blogging efforts. It is difficult (well, almost close to impossible) to be an overnight phenomenon. Even those that have reached the so-called fame face the very real possibility of just being a “one blog-post wonder”.

Consistency means being consistent in your efforts. Do you have the same spark you did when you started out? Do you still have the passion for content? Does writing for your audience still excite you? Good, that means you’re on the right path.

How can I be consistent?

Assign a timeline for blog updates. Try to be regular with your posts being published. The good thing is that there is no “right” way to do this. You are free to be flexible in your methods. You can post several times a day(like The Blonde Salad), or twice every week, or once every two weeks (like Wait But Why) if that floats your boat. Publishing posts regularly increase the chances of your content getting shared. This leads to an increase in readership.

Confused which blogging frequency to choose? Maybe this article will help you out.

But what is important to maintain is the top-notch quality of your articles, something that we were talking about in the previous section. Content is king. And it is ultimately going to be content that makes or breaks you. Make sure that the spark does not fizzle out in the long run.

It is also important to keep your audiences continuously engaged. Be sure to send them periodic emails to keep them in the loop. After every post, ask them if they have any questions or to simply leave behind a comment if they found the post helpful.

Keep Audience Engaged

As you publish your blog posts, make sure to share them on all of your social media accounts so that you do not miss out on any chances of social outreach. In the modern times, social media not only makes content sharing and social outreach easier but it also helps in establishing your image as a brand.

Why it’s important to fail

As it is with any other skills in life, your skills in blogging will improve only when you give your complete determination and hard work to it. If you have been going at it for a long time, it’s a good chance that you’ve had your chance of failures. But hey, since when have failures been a bad thing?

Here’s an article that tells you why success always starts with failure. Failure is an element critical to success because every failure teaches you to grow. You get to know where your strengths are and where your weaknesses lie. You understand to work on your weaknesses and play your strengths to your favor. You understand to plan out strategies that work for you. This is why it’s important to plan ahead of time and be consistent in the follow-ups.
